Pied-billed Grebe (Podilymbus podiceps)
Morro Bay, California
COP Workshop Participant Notes:
As mentioned in class, I intentionally look for non-distracting or complimentary backgrounds. In this case, I watched this little Pied-billed Grebe as it bobbed around the marina and waited for it to pass by an area with reflections from the surrounding boats. I was drawn to the similarity in colors between the bird and the brown tones in the water. I focused on the eye to ensure it is sharp!
