Great Egret (Egretta alba)
Mountain View, California
A massive fish erupts out of the water at Shoreline Lake in Mountain View as a Great Egret is forging nearby. I am not sure what the fish is, but it occurs when the pump is turned on in the lake which brings in small fish from the bay. This is also the time when there is increased bird activity, so a great time to watch and photograph the action!
