About the Photographer

Untitled photo

Originally from the UK and Ireland, I have spent the majority of my adult life in the United States and now make California's rugged, central coast my home. I could not ask for a more beautiful location, with its spectacular scenery and abundance of birds and wildlife!

Although my main interest lies in photography along the California coast, a background in the travel industry has led to exciting assignments overseas.

I have particularly enjoyed annual visits for the last few years to the polar regions as an expedition photographer and guide with select tour companies.  I have also been a guest host on specialized photography tours to Alaska, Costa Rica, Panama and Baja California. Companies I have worked with include G Adventures, Albatros Expeditions, UnCruise and American Queen Voyages.

This year, I join renowned luxury travel specialists, Abercrombie & Kent as a lecturer and photo coach, with exciting new trips planned to Italy and the magnificent Adriatic coast.

When not traveling, I offer private tours, tuition and small group workshops along the central California coast.  As a local, I am able to guide photographers to prime locations often overlooked by visitors.

Conservation is an integral part of both my life and work. A certified California naturalist, I love to be involved in environmental causes and activities. Of particular local interest, are the Western Snowy Plover and the Black Oystercatcher, as well as native plant restoration.

I am also involved on an international level whether that is through use of my images or donating my time. My work has supported numerous organizations including: Audubon California, the San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory, Global Penguin Society and the Wildlife Conservation Network.

A polished public speaker, I am available to present on a variety of topics relating to photography and conservation. To license images or for contract projects and assignments, please direct inquires via my "CONTACTpage.
